All right well, I am going to mention I am a writer. I write novels, but tend to have dips of creativity. Between 9am and 12pm. Then again at 10pm to about 1am in the morning. Today my sister and I had an argument.

My sister wanted to make a CD, but it was my writing time. Her music bleeds into my thoughts, especially the ones with lyrics.

Me, "Can you not?"

She gets huffy, "What now!"

Me, "I'm trying to write here,"

She throws a fit, "Always what you want."

Me, "I'm sorry, but this is when I write,"

She, "You have all day to write,"

Me, "No I have creative sparks between 9am to about 12pm. And I'll lose it if to many things get in the way,"

She, "Yeah well I have to go to work and what if I had a creative spark too, like making a CD,"

Me, "Can't you you do it without listening to the song and make the CD?"

She glares at me, "You're so selfish,"

Me, "But I'd like to write. I always write at this time,"

She goes, "Yes, it's always about you you you. You're so selfish,"

Me, "Can't you do it elsewhere? You can still make a CD?"

She goes, "Not when the radio is on,"

Me, "That doesn't make any sense. You can have the radio on, talk to your friends loudly, and have the windows down. Which gives me a headache, but you can't make a CD and have the radio on. Cause you do that to me all the time, you sing a different song than the one playing on the radio,"

She goes, "Not when I am making a CD, I'm going to work now,"

Me, "But..."

She goes, "No it's always about you and what you want,"

Me, "I always write at this time though,"

She goes, "Yes, you you."

Me, "I like to write at this time,"

She goes, "You can write when I leave for work,"

Me, "But I have the idea now,"

She goes, "Yes. Once again so selfish,"

Then she left and slammed the door. She went to work. She probably expects me to apologize. But to be quite frank and honest I don't know how to apologize cause I did nothing wrong. I always write at 9am in the morning. Always. And when I have an idea in my head, it can't be disturbed and I need silence. I have to write once I get the idea.

That is a really good story - and if your sister hadn't misbehaved you might never have written it!

Count your blessings...

I'm not sure I am following what you're saying.

Seriously - your sister inspired you to write a good story. I thought it was both funny and meaningful.

This is a story despite it actually happening? Sorry. Just ignore me and stupidity

Where in the house is this happening? Do you share a bedroom, or is this in a common area?
Could you carve out another space for yourself, like the attic, and put a desk up there? Do you share the computer or other equipment?

If this writing has actual money attached to it, would she understand better if you say that you are "working" rather than "writing?"

We share a bedroom. We are in a current situation where I live with my relatives and they only have one room. Don't worry we go to the bathroom and get dressed there, etc. We have separate beds to.

-Well I was planning on, once I edited this novel, to self publish on Amazon.

I get the feeling my family thinks that I cannot complete task andt hat I have no actual desire to be successful. So if I said I was working, I don't think she'd believe me. Her and my father said, and agreed with each other once, that I have no motivation and lack motivation. Not specifically lack motivation about writing, just work in general. They think I have no goals or motives.

But I honestly love to write. And honest to god since I was a child knew I'd become a writer some day. I am self publishing this year. I really am going to do it. But I have no proof unless I do it. If that makes sense.

Yeah, the secret here is to have some of your own personal space where you can work whenever you want. Like you I get the odd flash of inspiration at odd hours but I have the luxury of my own workshop where I can toll away until the wee small hours if need be. OK, there are the odd objections from the girlfriend, but my tinkering helps pay the bills.

Don't have that luxury. I think I stated on another thread, I have a nice domino effect of jobs. Where my jobs slowly decrease for how long I can keep them.

-My first job was for 6 months
-My second job was for 3 months

And my track record this year was

-1 whole day, I was fired and I only worked 1 day

I have no money. So my sister and I cannot get any sort of apartment until I have money and a job. But I also have a track record with that one too. Can't get one. I have experience too. Was in college too. But I cannot get a job.

I repel people and I don't know why. I smile. Open. Friendly. People don't like me. I have skills. But people don't like me.

And the one thing I am good at is writing. So I am trying to self publish because I thought "heck if I cannot get a job, I should try to make my own"

Are you able to write outside on a laptop or an IPad? You could sit in the yard and write there perhaps. Or even sit outside and pen your ideas in a journal and put them on the computer later.

Oh god your starting to get into my annoyance. There is one thing I hate and that's have a singular story on different mediums.

If I started:

-Writing on the CPU, then the story stays on the CPU, I will not spend one chapter in a journal or anything. It has to be where it originated
-If I wrote it in my journal, than I have to finish that journal first, then put it on the CPU

I cannot just stop and start midway on different mediums.

God I sound like a freak.

That makes sense to me. Anything to get away from office politics and power games... Some kind of self-employed or work-at-home would be the ideal. I wish I could find it.

Even I know that can't work. I don't pretend to have any talent (I tried years ago) but I know you can't move around like that. It takes about four times as long and you lose some stuff and repeat other stuff and it gets all disjointed...

Are you sure the relatives won't let you use a little corner of the attic? (garage, cellar, shed, whatever)

Oh absolutely sure. I will in the Members Discussion forum explain my living condition some day. I live in horror. Anyone with ASD would surely have gone mad by now.

Have you tried wearing headphones and using a noise generator to block out external sounds? I used to do it all the time.

How would I do this? And you have to realize I might not be able to again due to my grandmother.

Sorry, I did not know that would be hard for you. It's not freaky though. I understand. Maybe we can figure out another option that will work better.
