I almost always feel like there are thousands of ants crawling all over my body. I have to constantly move otherwise I start displaying challenging behaviours like slapping / punching myself and screaming.

I've had this all my life. But it's escalated lately.

I don't know what to do. I'm covered in bruises and scratch marks.

I'm going to see my family abroad next month and it will be hot. I don't want my family to see the bruises.

Ok, I'll ask my psychiatrist.

If I had a long corridor in my house, I'd be pacing up and down it, covering a few miles day, just to get rid of the feeling on my skin and in my body.

I've heard of this associated with schizophrenia.

Yes, and that is one of the OP's diagnoses. OP, you should definitely see your psychiatry ASAP.

Try taking a warm bath. Lie down in the tub, submerging yourself up to your neck. Breathe slowly and deeply. Close your eyes and listen to the sound of your breathing. Relax your body and stay motionless if possible while focusing on your breathing. Do this for about 30 minutes.

If you can't do that, try just sitting on a sofa and concentrating on your breathing. Picture something peaceful in your mind like the tide of the ocean coming in and retreating again.

You may also actually have a parasite. It's not uncommon. A good parasitical detox might help you. We all have parasites, most of them are intestinal and are very easily gotten rid of but sometimes they do live in the skin or muscles so that is also something to consider.

Yeah, I get it too.

Supposedly "mildly" Schizophrenic over here (or so the psychic said).

E: mine ain't that severe though. The occasional feelings of ants crawling over my arms and/or legs.

I would. At least try to rule out a physical reason.

I have clonazepam if I need it but I only take it at the worst moments.

I don't know if wearing certain types of clothing makes it worse for me. I'd have to test that out.

Another possibility, my husband is allergic to some things, like cat/dog hair, etc, and if he touched our dog too much, or if he touches the cat even a little bit (he is more allergic to cats than dogs) he will sometimes get this "ant crawling" feeling on his arms, etc.
