Brave kid with autism stands up to bullies

I REALLY liked this story about a boy called Jake, with autism (presumably Aspergers end of the spectrum), who had the courage in gym class to go to the centre of the gym and pour his heart out to his classmates, many of whom tormented him for his differences, and said "I just want you to see me for me." He really kept his composure well, I mean, if he had broken down crying or went into a rage, it could have backfired spectacularly, and resulted in more bullying. I'm also glad the gym teacher didn't intervene and try to shout him down, because a stereotypical gym teacher would probably want to keep the bullying status quo. More kids with autism should to what Jake did. While I don't know if he'll become the Rosa Parks of the autistic community, it's certainly a step in the right direction...

Good for him. :) No matter what, he made his point, in a calm and mature-sounding manner.
