I thought I'd ask, as a lot of people with ASDs here seem to have at least one child with an ASD. I was just wondering if anyone with an ASD has one or more children who aren't on the spectrum or have any other condition?

My son is NT and my daughter shows no signs of any abnormalities.

I have 3 adult children: one is clearcut Aspergers Syndrome (very successful journalist); one is very NT, (lawyer); - both are female. The third is a son, mostly NT though with a few ASD features (head of a company that supplies engineering equipment).

The very NT daughter is married to an Aspergers man who is a Professor of Engineering, and they have fraternal twins, one ASD the other NT.

Journalist daughter never married/no children. (Though has a family of cat children!)

Son has 3 children: one daughter NT (mostly), works as manager of online sales company; one son profoundly autistic, still at school; one daughter markedly AS who is completing a degree in Graphic Design (which, like engineering, seems to be quite a common choice for AS).

I'm NT and my husband ASD. Our child is NT. She was tested by the psychologist who diagnosed my husband.

I have two adult children and both are what I consider to be NT's. Both are very successful in their own way and have inherited some of my 'way of being' without it going to the extreme that my diagnosed ASD does. They both are extremely bright but have none of the social awkwardness or sensory issues that I have. I see this as being a real positive impact of my AS when blended with my ex wife's NT genes.

Yes.As I stated in a previous post, my 8 year old son is very NT. He is extremely socialable and uses sarcasm in a way that I never could have imagined when I was his age.

Without any official diagnoses, yes.

I am not looking forward to the day when the NT one figures it all out.

At work someone handed me a sub-assembly and asked to find why one of the six was not working right. I eventually figured out it was five of the six where not working right, the sixth one is the only one that was put together correctly. That's how it was with one of my kids and learning how to walk - I thought she learned to walk early, no, the other two were late.

My 5YO son and 2YO daughter appear very NT. My eldest son appears to be ASD, though we're still awaiting an assessment date.
