What is your race? I'm a black aspie and I hate my own race too; to the point where I've actually realized that I am racist against black people :( .

I think there are people, regardless of race, that we can be ashamed of as human beings. To be ashamed of oneself because of race serves no purpose or point. I am prejudiced against no one. There are some wonderful people in this world of every race. I don't mean to sound all tree-hugging, peace-loving and all that, but it's true. To be ashamed of an entire race because of the behaviors of a few is sad.

Well put. I don't think it's so much about race as it is a cultural thing. It's sad that the white men took land from the Indians but I wouldn't blame the race itself but how they were governed. There are many whites that view this as a terrible thing as there are those who are ignorant. And to be fair, some of the Indian tribes did some bad things too to the white people. This was just an example.

I don't hate my own race. Although I am ashamed of the race of my ancestors and how they treated other races.

I don't hate my race but one thing I don't like about it is people in other countries hating Americans.

Here's my opinion: if one hates any race and/or his or her own race, then that person is a racist.

Yeah. Native Americans got pretty violent themselves. Still, it's more fun to hear about their wars than it is to hear about my recent ancestors destroying entire cities with the drop of a bomb. Brr...

As far as auto-racism (as I call it), are you sure you don't just dislike subcultures? I personally get annoyed at the stereotypical 'gansta' type subculture, but I also get annoyed at the uber-white, uptight conservative neighborhood I grew up in. It doesn't mean I don't like white people. Are you in a heavily racist area? That will certainly rub off on you.

I love all races, and can find good and evil in all cultures. When I'm in Japan, I focus on the things I love about Japan, and not the things that bug me enough that I'm glad I'm not Japanese. In America, I focus on what I am so proud of, and not the things that shame me to tears. The way I see it, every nation has people in it.

You're right about that! I'm white, and certainly not ashamed of my race. I DO hate the stupid liberals that want to claim whites are all like spoiled brats that simply enslave others, etc... and try to keep whites down to raise others up. Not all whites enslaved blacks. I doubt any of my family ever did. And whites HAVE been enslaved by other whites. Blacks have been enslaved by other blacks. Indians have been enslaved by other indians. Obviously, some asians have been enslaved by other asians.

And to the jewish people that want to dispute what I say, and get up on their high horse? To THEM I say READ THE TORAH, and see how your OWN heritage allows for slavery, etc... They could point to the times when it says jews were enslaved, but don't ignore the parts that say it is ok for jews to have slaves. HECK, it says the arab race, and the first arab hostility, was created by abraham's relations with a slave.

As for wars? Whites have attacked one another as much as anyone else. The western ones tend to now live MOSTLY in peace though. Of course, Indians, Asians, Blacks have ALSO attacked one another.

You probably wouldn't be sitting there typing that message if your ancestors hadn't done what they had to do. Painful but true.

Now THAT is one thing I can agree with. Humans have done some nice things, and can certainly be good, but they have done SO much bad. Frankly, I have expected the human race to suffer severe hardships about 4 times in my life. I am shocked it hasn't.

I wouldn't think white aspies would be ashamed of their own race...
I think the reason I'm ashamed of being black is because there are so few black people in my town. Before I knew about AS, I had a lot of theories. One theory was that people were judging me by my skin color and that's why I didn't fit in with any of the other kids, who were all white. And the black minority didn't accept me because culturally, I'm not black at all. So I hate my skin color, and I always try to avoid other black people because I don't want people to mistake me for being black (culturally). Unfortunately, as a result, sometimes I make judgments about people just because they have are black. I find that I'm not racist against black people unless they look/act "gangsta", though, but non-gangsta black people are few and far between where I live.

For what it is worth, I feel the same as you, about acceptance, and I'm white! Frankly, anyone that would avoid/shun a person, whether their own race or not, because they don't speak a pidgin, or something similar, isn't worth being around anyway. There ARE some nice smart blacks that VALUE morality and intelligence. It is just sad that some others really hurt things. It is almost like being white and only being able to see "jerry springer" and only seeing the poor white trash there.
