Hi- I'm new- just joined today and have a question.

My husband has AS (high functioning) and we've known for a couple of years. Our kids (8 and 12) have learned over the years that they can get away with mouthing off to him more than me, because he doesn't recognize it when they're doing it (using a sarcastic tone for example). A lot of times it's me saying "Don't talk to your father that way" and then my husband recognizes that they're being disrespectful. Usually he over or under-reacts because he's not really sure how much gas to give it, if you get my meaning, so it's way too much or not enough. As a result, his reactions are unpredictable and confusing for them. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good book for kids to explain an Aspie parent. All I can find are books for parents on dealing with Aspie kids- and we need the opposite!

I just told my son yesterday that his dad as AS, but my daughter doesn't know.

Thanks for any help.
