For some reason I feel this desperate need to cook for my family. My little brother has an aspergian personality so he has a rigid routine and refuses to budge. My mum is also rigid as is my dad. This means that even though im willing to change my 8:00 eating routine to suit them noone is willing to accommodate me.

I dont know why this bothers me so much to be honest. Perhaps im trying to synchronise routines with mine, or perhaps I just want the pleasure of seeing people satisfied with my cooking. Maybe its a sense of family im pining for? Anyone have any insights into it. Im really disappointed that noone will sample my cooking :(

Seems trivial but there it is

People call aspergians finicky but this is really just another mechanism of scapegoatery, NTs are extremely picky eaters as well, or they wouldn't really have a biology of their own to dichotomize, would they? I'm quite nearly a vegetarian but you can watch me turn rather lycanthropic before a plate of salmon or fajitas, chicken is another vegetable when prepared correctly as well :P .

What I'm really saying is that the cuisine needs to be a surprise, as well as to fit everyone's dietary requirements. This is 90% chemistry, 3% inference and 7% you.

The trick is to make them something they can't resist.
It doesn't have to be dinner, You could start with something like toll house cookies or get up early and make them a breakfast of eggs or pancakes or whatever your family likes to eat.
Once you have established yourself as a good cook, they should welcome your cooking anytime.
Don't worry if your attempts fail at first, keep trying.
You need to convince them to take you seriously. They should be happy to have a chef in the family.
Good luck! :chef:
