hey i was wondering if anyone else with aspergers has problem with mental compartmentalization? and storing and prioritizing stuff in their brain? one problem I have is that I always focus on the bad stuff first, even when eating, with the hope that Ill be able to relax with the good stuff later, but its like an OCD on sorting out the bad stuff and then I can never put the bad stuff in the back of my brain, anyone?

I am the same way. Even if I actively try to not think about something, it haunts my every move until its resolved. Whatever is the most concerning is usually always at the forefront of my mind?

I am the same too. If I have an issue that bothers me, no matter how minor, I can't rest or focus on anything else until it's resolved and I think that once it's resolved I will be able to enjoy the 'good stuff'. Which is very inconvenient when the problem is not something that should be prioritized at all or something that cannot be solved rapidly. It is also very much exacerbated by stress: the more I'm under pressure and stress, the more difficulty I have with compartimentalizing. I am always told I am one of those "I want it, and I want it now" kind of persons because of this. I think it also has to do with my need for control and to have everything under control. If one thing is out of place it will just bother me, no matter how small it is.
