I came across this book on books24x7.com (A site many employers give their employees access to). I've already read half the book and it is an excellent resource to help learn about verbal, vocal and non-verbal communication. And consequently how to interpret and manipulate people with these modes of communication.

"I Can Read You Like a Book: How to Spot the Messages and Emotions People are Really Sending with their Body Language"
by Gregory Hartley (Author), Maryann Karinch (Author)
ISBN:9781564149411

I've often learned things from resources at work. I've also thought we could probably learn more by a communications major showing us all of this than being rehabilitated by others. If a communications major knows what is expected as far as "showing" and not telling, I'm positive they could do this. Visuals definitely work better with me. I might look into that book. What a great, useful topic.

Funny you should mention this. Just TODAY I was in a meeting. not long before it's end, I felt like moving my arms. Before I could, I noticed the guy beside me moved his arms the same way. One IMBECILIC IDIOT I knew once said this meant I was racist. Books say it means you are not interested and think little of the opinion. Well, the speaker today was WHITE! I'm WHITE! I guess it wasn't racism! The guy next to me was Indian. He probably thought the signal meant the SAME thing it did for me, and others polled. It probably meant simply that he had to rest his arms.

If the book you point to says otherwise, THROW IT OUT, it is GARBAGE! I will look for it, and check, but I have read LOTS of such books. Either I have polled HUNDREDS of non-NTs, or they are garbage. What do YOU think is more likely?

I have seen this title at the library many times. My response is, "Too bad I can't slam you shut like a book!"
