I've never seen a thread just disappear before. Ive seen them locked down... I just wonder what happened? Does a moderator do this or can the OP just disappear a thread?

I've seen this happen on other forums before. On one forum it happened to one of my threads because they thought I was a troll. This might also be the case with that thread.

It was a very long thread (8 pages or so), and I for one was interested in it, so I don't think the Troll thing is very likely...

I thought the poster OneTwoThree was catfishing and said so... but most everyone else thought I was being mean, and heartless. And they all worked hard to help him see that YES he does have Asperger's. Just like the thread Diagnosis Worshiping.

How weird. A link to the thread shows up if you search for the title, but then it won't load.

I think I didn't get to read the last page or two of comments, if it really got to eight pages, so I don't know where things left off, but I have a feeling OneTwoThree deleted the thread. He didn't seem too happy to be helped.

I could delete last couple of my posts in this thread, and I could delete the words in my first posts, but I couldn't delete the whole thread. I couldn't touch your post, for example.

I think moderators sometimes delete a thread or make it invisible(?) when it breaks a site rule or when the OP asks them to delete it for some reason. I've seen that happen in the past when many posts in the thread were criticizing a certain group of people. The thread just disappeared without a warning but the reason for the disappearance was very obvious.

Ah then... thanks.

thought the same thing as well tall-p, but didnt post as people who do that behavior want the user attention and will manipulate parts of a community into defending them by being dramatic with their tears.

have never understood the way people try and convince people who believe theyve been misdiagnosed with aspergers when theres a very cynical attitude towards self diagnosed people on here.

The OP asked a moderator to remove his thread because he'd posted personal information and didn't want it to remain accessible.

I try to open about people possibly being misdiagnosed when they question it. I will ask what are their reasons for it and if they ever went over their childhood when given the DX. I just thought it reeked denial after what the OP wrote. Not able to work and sensory stuff. But that doesn't mean the OP doesn't have a problem of course if he is misdiagnosed. There are other conditions out there that would make a person unable to work.

*nods her agreement*
It wasn't clear to me if that particular poster was "catfishing" or just really uninformed and in denial, but yes: The accusation just doesn't go anywhere. Actually, I'm pretty sure that someone who is posting just to jerk people around is *hoping* for the accusation of lying, because it escalates the drama.
