My doctor prescribed Effexor to treat my depression and anxiety. Today I woke up and feel sick to my stomach.
Is this normal? Wondering if anyone else has taken this and had any side effects from it?

I've taken venlafaxine, which is the generic form of Effexor.

Yes, feeling sick is quite normal. It will be like that for a few days, until your body adjusts to the medication. If it's really bad, try cutting the pill in half.

I have been on it about 5-6 years. I only had tiredness as side effect at first and that faded after a week or so. I like the result and have had a very good improvement/reduction of anxiety.

Only serious drawback I found was coming off it (running out unintentially) there was definately withdrawl symtoms. So it would have to be slowly reduced to minimalize that.

I went a bit loopy when I was on it. I had to stop using it.
