Is this associated with ASD, where you have an elaborate fantasy that you will think about for maybe 20 minutes that is not in any way connected to reality, and you start to show emotional distress over it and it changes your mood for the rest of the day? Like you psychologically respond to it as if it were a memory of a real event that happened (even though you know it's not the case) but just ruminating on it and fleshing it out into a very realistic fantasy makes it have that kind of power over you?

Sometimes I'll imagine ways that people may betray or hurt me, and I'll start feeling this disappointment and sadness towards them and feel like avoiding them, but it completely goes away once I see them in person or talk to them.

I don't know if it is related to AS but I do that too pretty often. It does not usually affect my mood for the whole day though but it can really change my mood during the moment. That is one reason we can be really good actors. :D

I have that. Sometimes my fantasy convinces me that my family is in the mob or lying about their true identity and I know it's not true but sometimes I want it to be because I'm bored with my life.
