Like are there organizations or groups that have aspergers sufferers that i could meet and socialize with?

I may be too old for a regular group. Im 20, so that could be a problem. But i dont know of anyway to meet aspies in public.

And theres nobody ive seen yet on this forum that lives in virginia that has aspergers also!

You are LUCKY!! !! !! Alex, and several others are right around your age, and are in Washington DC! I am looking for an answer in Fort Wayne or Boston. Both are cold enough that I decided to wait a couple days to a weekk before pursuing though.

Just put on a pair of glasses and head to a local high school. Talk loudly about how great Dungeons & Dragons is. Wait for a jock to stuff you in a locker. There will probably be other aspies already inside the locker.

In the lieu of a serious reply look for aspie social groups and barring that try sci fi clubs (if science fiction is even remotely appealing to you this will be ok, I'm not really as into it as most are in the group I talk with but I'm accepted as I am).

You could always go to medical school. There's more Aspies there than anywhere except for maybe Silicon Valley.

I don't know my UK geography so I don't know how close these are. But there are adult groups in Exeter, Toubay & Salisbury. And here is website for some UK group http://www.danda.org.uk

Check your messages I sent you a PM with a contact ph# for Virginia. I would also suggest to everyone quit assuming that your local autism groups are for parents only. Call or email the group and ask if they have an adult group. There are many adult groups out there, but few are advertised on the web. Our local ASA group started out as a parents group but we now have just as many adult Aspies attend the meeting.

I found out about a small aspie group for college students (baltimore area) by contacting MAAP and they hooked me up with someone who runs a group through one of the area college's disability office. This group is small and not on the internet, it was just through word-of-mouth (actually email) that i found it. I'd bet you can find ones in other areas like this too.

There is also the DC adult aspie group. Alex and I went to one of their meetings last month. There's a lot of people, I'd recommend going if you're in the area. Maybe I'll see you sometime.

I wouldn't know South Australia from North, East or West. But check your PM for a list of Australian groups.
