Seasonal anxiety
I suppose it should be seasonal depression, but I feel it's more like seasonal anxiety with me. I know it's only August but I always seem to start seasonal anxiety in August. As soon as I noticed the nights are drawing in, the seasonal anxiety begins. I then start getting this dreaded feeling of winter, and I panic inside because I want it to be summer forever. I start thinking of dark evenings, cold and snow. Then I feel a mixture of depression and anxiety (seasonal), and long for the summer days. Then I have to remind myself that's it's still summer in August.
But this year in the UK the wind is coming from the stupid north, which has driven our summer away and it feels very autumnal already. I like the rain, but for this time of the year it does feel noticeably cold, which is making me anxious. I hope this doesn't mean this north wind is here to stay for the next 10 months.... *shudder*
Anyway does anyone else feel seasonal depression/seasonal anxiety? It is hard to explain because it's not like an ordinary depression or anxiety what affects my thinking or daily life. It's just that feeling I get every now and then, where I think ''oh my God, winter's on it's way!''
If I knew the east UK was having a repeat of last winter, where it was mild and wet and windy throughout the whole of the winter without a flake of snow (excluding hailstones), then I might not get seasonal anxiety. Mind you, the dark evenings still depress me.
