Definitely a day of a lot of emotions for me.

I just want to thank everybody for the advice you gave, discussions we had or just for taking time to read my posts. Part of finding out you are Autistic involves looking back over ones life finding explinations for and making sense of past events. Reading about your experiences was invaluable to me in that regard. Your experiences sparked memories of events I had forgotten about for decades. This has been the weirdest part about the past year.

I have been reading my posts from my first couple of weeks as a WP member. I am humbled by both how far I have come ( I spelled Aspergers with a "b" ) and how far I have yet to go. I was also struck by the lack of suspicion then, posters were given the benefit of doubt. That this changed has been by far the most frustrating and bitter thing of about my first year here. I hope when I am writing my diagnosis second anniversary message our community has turned this around.

you're welcome. i'm glad we could help you sort out your life and make sense of past events. now, i've lived mostly my entire 17 year life wearing an autism diagnosis but that doesn't mean i didn't learn about myself by reading about people's experiences on here.

happy anniversary. :flower:

Almost 56 years. I was undiagnosed and for the most part unaware I was Aspie-Autistic until August 26, 2013.

I can relate. I was (finally) diagnosed in my mid-forties. Spent far too many decades wondering what the H was wrong with me.
