I was just approached by the directors of the program where I work and told that when I come back next week I should come with a list of the accommodations I need to function as an autistic person in a high-stress workplace. Nobody's ever asked me that before. I've always just been expected to make do somehow. So I don't really know what to ask for. All I can think of is a sort of sensory survival kit (textured items, noise cancelling headphones, maybe a weighted vest or blanket), the ability to take breaks if I'm overwhelmed, and to be assigned to areas where there is less commotion when possible. Can anybody think of anything else? If you have accommodations at your work, what works for you?
