So I got diagnosed as autistic today just a few hours ago (3 actually from this post) I can officially update my signature I guess haha. it feels kind of weird but I just wanted to mention it because this site helped me to ask questions and get answered, and I feel like you guys were a big help. haven't posted myself in a while because of getting things sorted out (and lack of thinking of the words to answer with). I do feel a bit light headed, I mean I was expecting it, but it still came as a surprise.

I dont know why it was so hard to tell my sister, i mean my parents know the result, but it was hard to just say it even though theres nothing wrong with it.

I'm glad you were able to get clarification, in the form of a formal diagnosis.

It's good, as long as you don't let the diagnosis rule you.

I've let mine rule me to a certain extent.

Some people do need the official validation to make it seem real.

haha it did take basically an entire year to get it, but its going to be very useful for university and future jobs. oh and mentally its nice to have that official validation. finally convinced my parents it was correct and they are actually acknowledging it now.

if anyones going through the process of it, or waiting for it, its different in different countries and all that but id be happy to answer questions about my own experience if it makes you feel comfortable about it
