I am somewhat confused on what you're looking for in response? New stim ideas or?

What kind of sensations and textures do you find soothing?

I'll go ahead and list some of the stims I enjoy and will possibly offer other ideas once you respond to MathGirl :)

- I sickle my foot and make a vibrating type movement with it. (I am not sure if your ankle is flexible enough for this, though)

- If you sit cross-legged on your chair, then gentle rocking is very nice imo.

- Finger tapping with the side of your finger on the edge of the desk.

- I have these memory foam type squish-able items that I like to scan with my fingers and squeeze.

I love the texture of my fleece weighted blanket, the input from flapping and rocking, my rubber spike balls, sitting constantly curled up [in flexible positions], hitting myself with the edge of my palm...

My stims are just there, I don't know if I could adapt stims from someone, often enough I do not realize I am stimming, it is more uncouncious happening, but there can be a moment I have awareness of it and stop it, but it coms back anyway.
I often tap fast with my fingers under my nose or under my chin, it happens also taking the train to autism center, I also rock often doing it.

I think playing with the rubber spike balls is convenient while you are sitting down at a couch or at a desk. It's hard to stim with it when you have to type, though.

So maybe you could also put the weighted blanket on you while you are sitting down. This would work especially if you have an armchair - that way the blanket won't touch the floor and get dirty.

You can also bend your ankles and place them in front of you on the chair or wherever you're sitting. You can also combine that position with hitting your legs with the side of your palm.

I do chew gum already. My stims are there, I don't know why it slows/stops when holding tablet.

Stims are unusual because I can do them without knowing it, but when I realize I'm doing it, I stop, but instinctively want to continue.

My tics are the same way, except I know when they are happening. I also have trouble stopping, unless my mind is preoccupied. Thank you computer!

I have many many stims but my favourite at present is very gently touching and rubbing the tops of my fingernails on one hand and the changing over and rubbing the fingernails of the other hand in the same way. I have another stim with my fingers that is somewhat akin to the motion an insect goes through when cleaning its feelers and proboscis. I also love putting my hands into prayer position with finger tips touching and the prayer position with hands clasped and fingers folded into each other.

Typing (which I do really fast with only 2-3 fingers) is also very soothing.

I love also to strecth my arm straight out rigidly in front of me and pivot my wrist around repeatedly.

Oh dear, I started this post wanting to relate maybe one stim and there I go into full disclosure mode. Aah well, I hope I gave you some good ideas.

Then there is my neck-twisting maneouvre ...

When I speak, there are times when mouth makes jibberish to end a sentence 8O unintended.

I used to keep a deck of cards at my computer desk and shuffle them whenever I was waiting for something to load. You might want to try it! :)
