I had tennis elbow a few years back. My doctor made me wear these elbow straps to keep pressure on it. The elbow cured years ago, however I still wear the elbow straps. I like the pressure of them.

Lie on your bed UNDER the mattress. Works for me ... Though when I did it in psychiatric hospital they thought it was rather odd!

Get a heavy blanket (not necessarily weighted, just heavier than normal) and keep it on your shoulders when you sit. Cover with it when you sleep. Works for me.

Weighted blankets, compression clothing, and/or ask someone to lay on you (it feels best for me if I lay on my side, put a weighted blanket on me, then have someone lay on top of the blanket).

If you don't have any of these items, wrap fabric tightly around you. Anything you've got lying around would work. Make yourself a "burrito" inside a blanket.

Rocking also tends to help me when I feel like that. Just find a place you can rock until you don't need to.

A tight fitting puffer vest seems to work for me.

Thank you for the advice everyone. I'm going to buy a heavy duvet tomorrow with my support worker hopefully.

I need deep pressure too.

I have a compression massage chair. It works really well.

You need a proper weighted blanket, and can get one at http://www.peaceweightedblankets.com or another such site.

I concur. My mom made me one for my birthday last year and it's been a life saver in terms of suppressing the aftereffects of sensory overload and brewing meltdowns. As others have said, wrapping yourself up in blankets and weighted vests will also help. You can try lying with heavy things like textbooks on top of your chest too, it just depends where specifically you need the pressure. For me it's mostly the chest/torso area. Multiple layers of tight-fitting clothing may also work, but may be too warm, also, I know many (myself included) who can't stand the feeling of clothes that cling.

Thank you. I will have a look at the website although I'd have to make sure it does UK delivery. I like pressure on my torso.

I'm weird, autistically-speaking LOL

I don't like ANYTHING on me, unless it's cold. I feel strangled if a heavy blanket is on me.

I do like the feeling of being squeezed, though. I wouldn't mind getting one of Temple Grandin's gadgets.

Of course, I like rocking on chairs. I've rocked even on chairs which are so secure--like those metal chairs you see in weddings, etc (somewhat dangerous LOL)

Compression shirts made for athletics are good if you like it on your torso. I like my compression shirts.
