Has anyone remarked to you that you are overambitious?
Do you have bigger (way bigger!) dreams than most of your peers?

While no one has ever said I'm over ambitious, I think I am. I hope to be a published author someday, and in comparison to some of the so called "dreams" of others, it probably does seem ambitious to them. But what do they know?

If you think you are, then you likely are not overambitious.

I think as a group we tend to be under ambitious because we are taught by society that we are "less than,"

As long as you're not financially/physically harmed by ambition, you are never overambitious.

I have been accused often of this; I'm a dreamer, That's not realistic etc. But I don't really see anything wrong with that. I have attempted some rather large projects, which through an ability to concentrate for long periods I have managed to complete, perhaps just maintaining a special interest. (Much to the surprise of others) However, I do utterly fail in anything that has to do with ambition in the NT world; careers, work, money, saving etc.

Ambition needs to have at-least a tenuous link to realty, otherwise it could end up harming you.

I have a more-than-tenuous link with reality.

No doubt.

I never actually believed what I was conditioned to believe anyway.

I spent the first 45 years of my life making myself miserable, trying to be normal. Ambition was the taskmaster, mercilessly whipping me to be what I was not. Since I failed at it spectacularly I would say that I was definitely over ambitious. Ever since I stopped trying and gave up most ambition, my life has been getting better and I have become much happier.

I'm beginning to think the Buddhists have the right idea "desire is the root of all unhappiness"

I mean....that my ambition has basis in reality--that there's not a tenuous relationship between my ambition and reality. Instead, there's a solid relationship.
