Can you feel the air on your eyes?

-an honest question? - the frist time I asked thi question is was directed at my girlfreind ,,,believe me shee looked at mee like 8O 8O 8O too!

-So really looking for honesty here... I am using it to base it on a theory regarding evolution, Artificial intelligence and the mind in the womb.

Note: I don't feel it unless I actually make the thought of feeling my cornea.

Note: I sort of get dry eyes... but - I also feel wind on my eye

Note: The eye hasn't got any felling nerves on the front - only the back, if the Pain your feeling in your left eyball (another thing I get) is what you belive to be 'feeling the air' then disregard it.

A good way to test is with convectional heat.... (a hair drier puts too much wind on you so observations will be flawwed) - walk from pre-airconditioned room (air conditioner is off) into warm room , note what happens (normal people will get tears in their eyes aswell, especially with change in humidty) ,, what I want to know is if theri is hypersensitivity amongst the ASpie population....

If I am alive with enough results ... i will post in the science section.

--It may be prudent to actually state wether or not you are

A. Diagnosed AS or any other spectrum ,, including ADHD and NDD
B. Undiagnosed
C.Belive you are either AS ASPERGER NDD, unsure.
D. Don;t want to divulge

Please answer in following format:

A "I have AS with ADHD" No

will make it easier to traverse.

-I can see myself now... I proably won't do anything ;; let's see if I got any 'stick to it iveness'

Yes, but I have alopecia so having no 'eye lashes' has lead me to lose a lot of my 'eye' protection.

But i always wore a visor when I rode a motorcycle so ;)

Diagnosed ADHD; strongly suspect I have AS.

I've always been able to feel air on my eyes. Especially cold air. I can't have any fans or air vents pointed at my eyes, hot or cold. It doesn't make a difference whether I am wearing contact lenses or not.

Additional info that may be useful: I grew up in a very cold, dry, subarctic climate - left just before turning 18. Also, I wore glasses from the age of 8 to 18, then switched to contact lenses, which I've been wearing almost exclusively now for 10 years. When I decide to wear glasses for a day (which is very rare) my eyes actually sting - like they aren't used to direct contact with air at all anymore.

My glasses/contacts wearing friends hav commented on that, and I remember a discussion where most of them give up on contacts, because of having to get used to wearing AND not weraing them gives them the irrates. ...the self absorbed pretty boy seems to use the contacts more often (not that you are self absorbed - just saying he wants too look pretty) , whereas the other guy has more ASpie qualities.,,actually come to think of it yeah he may just be ASpie!-nah too social.

So if your sitting in a still room - you can sense the 'temperature' via your cornea!

ie, if your in a cold room, but standing next to a radiant heater therfore you body is warm, you can feel the actual temperature of the air on the surface of your eyeball?

I only wear my contacts so much because glasses bug me. It’s not the appearance thing so much as it is a sensory thing. I just can’t stand having them on my face. But my optometrists have told me several times that I’m going to end up with oxygen deprivation – and therefore be forbidden from wearing contacts ever again – if I don’t wear my glasses at least once a week. So now I try to wear the stupid things for at least a couple of hours every Saturday and Sunday morning when I first get up.

I don’t know if I can necessarily sense the temperature of a room with my eyes, unless the air is actually moving. Then I can tell if it is hot or cold.

-Spot on - I beleive you.

-Yep,,, My mates try to make me wear sunnies - I can't stand the feeling on my nose an the hooks on my ears,,, but mostly my nose - I just shrugged it off as the fact that I have a bump on my nose so that's why it uncomfortable .. or becuase when I was a kid I ran into the clothesline and now have a snesitive nose that don't like objects resting on it... but mayb it's just an AS thing.

PS to others planning to POST - forget about the FORMAT - I'll just do it manually -- their are already too many if's and buts'.
