I have a lot of problems paying attention, losing things, getting tasks done, etc. Basically a lot of symptoms of ADD. I take Adderall for it but it really doesn't help with that. It does make my head feel much clearer and I feel like I can think better, almost like turning on a light. But it hasn't helped with anything else really, I still am spaced out a lot and I don't get a whole lot more done, if at all.

Is there something else I can do that will help me with these other things? Whether I'm on the medication or not it feels nearly impossible.

I take Concerta for my stimulant. While, it doesn't help with the things you mentioned... it does help with focus and concentration. That's what stimulants do. They don't help you organize better or prevent you from losing things either. I've taken them since the second grade, so I know quite a bit about them from experience. XD

I do have trouble paying attention too. All I can suggest is to find something to help keep your focus or concentration. Like, something to enhance it. What works for me is listening to music. The problem with my stimulant is that I'm addicted to it. Mostly due to my routine, and it sucks because it's affected how I sleep. It's an extended release format. So, it will literally kick at every sleeping pill, anti-depressant for insomnia... just everything I try. I'd be careful with taking stimulants too.

Anyway, yeah... I still constantly lose things and am very disorganized, but I do find that listening to music improves my focus and concentration a lot more.

Still, it seems like you need something stronger. Stimulants are supposed to make focusing a lot easier for you. I know mine's not the best either... but it helps a lot more than what I realize. It helps me be more alert and what not.

Yeah, I guess I shouldn't assume it will help with all of that stuff. I do like music a lot for this purpose, I used to listen to it basically every waking hour and even to help me sleep, but now with work and other things it's harder.

I know I must have a somewhat severe problem since the adderall clears my mind so much, and when it wears off I will notice how bad I am without it, too. and it makes me angry because it feels like I can't even think.

What you are experiencing is also called brain-fog.
One possible cause could be sugar-sensitivity. When you are sugar sensitive,
your blood sugar is getting too high and then crashing all the time like a roller coaster.
In the end the brain gets totally tired and exhausted.
I've gone completely off processed/refined foods for that reason.
