Calls from companies about things they didn't do?
I'm not talking about telemarketers. I'm talking about real-estate companies calling me on my cell phone regarding a house I was interested in buying and claiming I called them. They tell me the name of the person who made the call and that it was made the same morning. I'm talking about calls from airline companies about flights I apparently booked. I haven't booked any flights.
What is this? It seems like a scam but it makes me worry that someone is using my phone remotely or someone is able to make a call while appearing as my number?
Is that even possible?
Does anybody else have the same issue or an explanation?

First, maybe you should check your cards and your phone service for fraud.
Secondly, maybe it is a different area code and that they got the wrong area code.
Thirdly, a less probable situation is that your phone has been cloned, but that normally requires someone to have your phone for a considerable length of time.
Fourthly, I've been going through the same thing. Someone in a nearby by town, a girl apparently named Parker, has been calling men with my number and giving them my number and they call me back. So far I have about 31 numbers blocked because they won't stop calling, and I keep being called by new numbers.
That's all the info I can think of.

Phone cloning is imposable these days. Why? First, they have to get pass the encrypted security around the SIM card and even if they are successful. If the cell network detects more then one phone with the same number connecting at the same time to the network? The network will immediately lockout that number and notify security or the police. Even if you have more then one phone with the same phone number. the ESN numbers on the SIM cards are different. No 2 SIM cards in the world have the same ESN.
The only way for a clone to work is if the clone owner know when the owner of the original has turned theirs off and only turn the clone on when the original is off. As i stated before. if both phones are on at the same time. it will get flagged.

It's not impossible, just harder. There are still people capable of doing it. It's highly improbable that you'd be the victim though. I don't think I'm supposed to say the methodology here, at least not in detail. Essentially, an infected phone (incredibly easy to do) can be used to relay nearly any data you want from the phone which includes control over the calling ability. It is possible to relay the call through their phone from your own. It is also possible to know if the phone is being turned off or to disrupt the calling function while you are using it.
