Currently it is in the upper 60s outside with high humidity. My parents' house has a moisture problem. The basement is 75 degrees with 85 percent humidity currently (dew point of 70). The indoor temperature on the first floor is 70 degrees.

If the dew point and temperature are both 70 degrees that means the humidity is 100 percent between floors. Not good. That means black mold.

I tried turning the AC to 69 degrees and it felt more like a humidifier than air conditioning. The whole house has that "dirty, wet and gross" feeling to it.

I live on the 2nd floor where the temperature is 75 with 63 percent humidity. Earlier this morning the humidity was 73 percent!

Any advice?

A dehumidifier?
