I like some of the ways I experience the world, and I like being able to hyper focus on something, especially things I am learning or making. I often surprise myself with the things I make I have found that because I have a different thought process and the way I pick up on little details about the world, and the way I make connections that others seem to always miss. I sometimes solve problems that other people can't.
Simply having autism is somewhat an advantage in the field I am going into. I want to be a special education teacher, but specifically with kids with very low functioning autism. For instance, there have been times when I have been volunteering at special a needs school or when I have been working as a camp counselor, when I have quickly figured out why one of the kids is upset (aspies and auties both) when no one else knew why. I guess I just have a better shot at guessing correctly in these situations because I have some of the same problems.
