Just wondering if anyone else experiences this. I can drink normally when I'm supported eg. Leaning on a table but when I'm not I have to drink really slowly and really concentrate so I don't gag. I should probably mention I have a gag reflex but that's mostly due to textures not just swallowing. Also I always drink through a straw and I chew and bite on my straw because of sensory stuff. It's almost like I forget to swallow sometimes. Anyone else?

Not exactly like that, but kinda. The forgetting how to swallow thing, yeah I get that sometimes. It's like my brain just losses the motor pathway to trigger swallowing. It's very annoying. If I'm drinking something without a straw - or anything that involves moving while not being able to see my environment - while standing up my balance starts to go and I need to lean on something (or even just have a firm touch on it, I press my elbow against the wall in the shower when I need to close my eyes to wash my face or something and that works fine). Maybe where my brain focuses on swallowing and drops balance your brain focuses on balance and drops swallowing?
