I have Asperger's Syndrome, but I also have an unusual personality. I consider myself weird even for an Aspie. Does anyone else feel this way?

I too feel that I differ because when I see lists of how aspies are typically supposed to be (not AS traits/criteria but personality, views, values) I don't fit it very well.

I have been to a few aspergers/high functioning autism groups. I am always amazed at how well they small talk and socialize.

"Define" - state or describe exactly the nature, scope, or meaning of.
credits to google for the definition

I am a bit higher functioning than most aspies.

Out of place, unearthly, not natural, unusual, not ordinary

I don't feel weird. Humans are weird. Sometimes I feel like an alien. Like I don't belong. I feel completely disconnected from them. Always have.

I have met up with some real life Aspies, and by being "normal" relative to them I am very "weird" if that makes any sense. I sometimes wonder if that's why I have such a lack of friends: I look "normal" and have "normal" grooming and social habits as well as "normal" interests but I am certain I must do something off that turns people off. The Aspies I met scream "GEEK" and it's obvious to expect them to act a little differently.

I almost feel like I am too "normal" for most Aspies and too "weird" for most NTs.

Googled the dictionary definitions of weird. One that came up a lot was "supernatural".

Not "weird"--- I do not like to insult myself; there are plenty of jerks to do that for me--- but definitely more severe than most people here.

Well I have not met a lot of metalhead/hippie/stoner or whatever the f*** I am aspies so sometimes I feel a little out of place, though I have only ever interacted with others on the spectrum online haven't met any in real life....I also procrastinate a lot there are groups and what not I could go to, to interact in real life but I suppose feeling out of place in real life is more awkward than on the internet at least for me which causes more procrastination.

Aspies will face the same problems around other aspies, as they do around NT's. I have never found that just because someone has aspergers that I can sort of instantly click and feel normal around them. Yes we all have what doctors label "Aspergers" but we're not cut from the same cloth, and we all live with unique traits, behaviours, etc.

An aspie is a human. And it's humans I have a problem with.
