I have a possible diagnose of mild high functioning autism with a normal IQ. This is interesting because as a child I relate to being deaf. Although, not physically deaf. From Prep through to High School I never heard a word the Teacher said. I only ever heard the sound of their voice. Can anyone relate to this?

Sounds like auditory processing disorder, which isn't deafness.

That said, there is something similar called Auditory Neuropathy which is a type of deafness. It's much rarer, though.
