Extracts from Broccoli have shown to cure autism.
It will now be made into a pill, which autists will have to take every day, and then they can all be conscripted into the army!

If it will get rid of the symptoms of ASD without the unfortunate side effect of turning me into broccoli, I'll take it and be glad.

Sorry, man. I've learned to accept myself. I've learned to cope. Some days I even like me. But if there was a drug that could "fix" me without turning me into a virtual vegetable, that would be the second-best news of my lifetime.

No one is suggesting that it will cure autism. A controlled study indicates some significant success in reducing some symptoms in a control group of moderate to severe autistic teenagers.

NO ONE IS IN ANYWAY SUGGESTING THIS IS A POSSIBLE CURE!

Here is an article about the study:

Here is an abstract about the study:

Again - there is not the slightest suggestion that this is a cure. There are hopeful signs that it could lead to treatment that might reduce some symptoms.

Sounds good, I will take that then, even if the prescription costs 10 pounds a month. It would be worth it. I am on antidepressants, which are the next best thing to a cure for Autism because since I gone on them my mindset has changed for the good, but I still hate having Asperger's and want to just be in the majority. Besides, it would make finding a new job easier, since I have to find another job soon because I will be moving to a different town.

I hope it'll work. I want a cure/ treatment. Too bad it's not enough to just eat broccoli!

No thanks. I like me. For many of us this is who we are, especially adults. It wouldn't be wise to even attempt a cure at that age. But, Citalopram and Cannabis puts me on a semi normal level. That's fine for me.

OP you've been here for 3 years, I'd think you'd know better than to post curbie nonsense here.

If you did you'd suffer mentally, and very badly. A sudden change like that would knock you for 6. You're not used to living, or seeing, life like an NT.

i wonder if it would help my learning issues...

i also wonder how this would work, autism is a Developmental Disorder, does it speed up the development process or does it just cover up symptoms? will my sensory issues go away? my light and sighs sensitivity is so bad a have a lot of trouble reading..

i would try it to see if it would better my life but my guess is that its like 100 dollars a bottle.

Whoooa, no one's forcing anything on anyone. There are studies like this all the time. I seriously doubt that autism could ever be cured unless they figure out how to do brain transplants.

Then you should know me better than to call me a CUREBIE!! !!

How dare you?

As I wrote in my OP, all these cures against autism, what they are really about, is to enforce coercion.
I most westernized countries today with military conscription, a lot of people with ASD are getting exemptions from this duty.

That is the reason they want to find a cure for autism, so that we can become cannon fodder.

Or to take away our social benefits. It's not that I find that social benefits are just THE way of life, but I wouldn't trade my autism and hence my personality away, just because people want me to work!
I'd gladly be working, if I could, but I don't want to if it requires of me to be non-autistic.

Wrong. In countries with either military conscription or strict rules to recieve social benefits, exemption from military duty or work requires that there are
no cures for you.

If there ever comes a cure for whatever reason got you exempted, you will be forced to take that cure, of face punishment.
