Waiting for diagnosis interviews, and an unsupportive parent

Well I have been placed on the waiting list now, and after leaving my last job due to the aftermath of a breakdown, I am currently unemployed.
I don't know how to approach job hunting anymore, and I'd like to avoid being mentally worn down like my last job. My mum will not understand despite my constant attempts to explain, and yesterday tricked me into going to lunch over my dads and then disappearing until Wednesday and locking me out of the house. So I can't reach any of my stuff and I'm thrown way out if my comfort zone. I've spoken to her, but she has accused me of being selfish. Any advice?

Parents have a tough time with any diagnoses that their kids get, especially the kind that they consider to be something that they might have caused. In this case, it is all fear. As for being locked out, could you afford a motel? Do you have a nearby friend with whom you could stay? Neither option is as good as your own home, but they are better than sleeping in all-night cinemas.

After your assessment, and your mother returns, it seems clear to me that a chat with her needs to occur. You seem to know the basic facts about your diagnosis and its causes, so I won't try to put words in your mouth. But, if I were you, I would approach her with the knowledge that she didn't cause this, but she did complicate things while she was gone.

Can you stay with your dad until Wednesday? What does your mother think locking you out of the house is going to accomplish?

Yeah I can just about stay at my dads, but it's put him on the spot as well. But I'm now beside myself because all I have is my phone and wallet

The biggest thing that sucks about having autism is the fact that NT people, including you own parents. See this as nothing more then just finding an excuse for bad behavior. I know the feeling. You feel trapped. You're screaming in pain and nobody around you can hear you cries for help.
