Does the state of your stomach tend to play a crucial role in your moods and demeanor towards yourself and others? For instance, do you find yourself becoming more tense, unhappy and anxious when your stomach hurts, feeling irritable when you're hungry, and feeling relaxed and happy when you've just eaten and feel satisfied? It does for me, and I was just wondering if it was true for anyone else. I even have a stim that involves patting or rubbing my tummy when I feel anxious or happy. :) I also tend to eat a lot when I'm feeling sad, and lately I've noticed that I have more of an appetite when I am sad.

I feel sad/pessimistic when my stomach is full as if there were no hope. I call it post-eating depression. A stomach ache also causes a similar mood.

I think pain, feeling unwell and being hungry make a lot of people irritable, and it's common to feel relaxed after eating. I do too.

I got gastritis in December 2012, and only recently started feeling human again. Stomach issues can change everything... after going through hell, I'm not quite the same person I used to be, and don't know if I can ever reverse that mentally.

I think that's true for most people. I know a lot of people who get ratty when they're hungry. My tummy doesn't affect my mood. I think my ears do more. Sometimes my ears are more sensitive than other times, and so different noises irritate me. Being tired often affect my mood too.

When my stomach is upset I get malaise.
When I have excessive gas, it makes me anxious.
When I'm moderately hungry I get a bit irritable.
When I'm really hungry... well, I get a mindset similar to what I imagine a starving predator would feel like.

Anxiety and fear does that for me.
