It's nearly 5:30am and I still can't sleep because I can't stop thinking about finances/university/work.

What do you do when you can't get to sleep? Any tricks or suggestions?

I get up & go watch TV. Not something dramatic or exciting, something either boring or funny. Or I get out of bed & go read a book in the living room. Not a fictional story, cuz then I get engrossed in it and have to read it to the end. Something low-key that you can put down anytime.

Basically try not to just lie in bed. Get up and do something else, and go back to bed when you are very sleepy and know that you'll conk out.

I also realize lying there that my breathing is too fast & deep. So I try to consciously slow my breathing down. I don't have any special techniques or anything though.

Sorry I'm not more help! Insomnia sux :(
