A 'like' button for posts for when you cannot think of words but want to show appreciation for someone's post.

I would create more space for Personal Messages, especially where they are "saved."

A "how-to" sub-forum to provide topics (how to get a diagnosis, what books to read, what are the current diagnostic criteria, etc.) that have already been asked and answered, and continue to get asked and answered by those who don't know if their questions have been asked and answered. Tedious? Yep. Corral them all into one area.

A button that instantly deleted personal attacks.

I would like to more easily "follow" people (knowing when they posted something new).

Better search facilities and elimination of the "login or join" prompt when connecting in not logged in state (I often like to search or browse without logging in and the prompt gets in the way).

It would also be nice to get back the ability to hover over menus/tabs at the top of the page. The menus (at least the "Community Discussion Forum" menu) used to provide a selectable pop-down list if you hovered over them (like the Info and Media tab still does), which allowed you to make a choice without having to click on the tab. This changed about 6-8 months ago and now you must click on the Community Discussion Forum tab, wait for the new page to load and then click on the desired discussion forum. It's a lot of wasted time.

a convenient "ignore poster" feature that automatically blacks out or bypasses some posters.

I wouldn't mind an ignore option.

That's a good one. Not a problem yet for me personally, but it's worrying.

I've lost zillions of personal messages due to the storage limit. I woulda liked to have kept them.

Different forum software. One that is bug free.

Don't like this idea as people would end up blocking me. :(

for what its worth to you, I would not block you unless you were abusive to me. I am tolerant to a fault. it would be a feature intermediated by the moderators and judged appropriate on a case-by-case basis.

I can think of a few features I might wish for:

. Karma system
. A friend/follow feature
. Report button

Karma systems differ from 'like' systems as they are anonymous and private, so they don't promote a dangerous group mentality. A follow feature is simply nice to have, because you may be interested in what a particular person is posting - this could be integrated into a friendship feature where posters you are 'friends' with have their names a different colour, or perhaps glowing. A report button should notify moderators of a post (along with who reported it to prevent abuse), and if many reports are sent the post should be hidden automatically until it is reviewed.
