He says he is very literal, does not pay attention to the right things, social engagements are a struggle, doesn't get expressions end thinks of it as alternate reality not dysfunction

I watched it. He seems sincere about it.

I know very little about him; never watched his show. I'd be interested to get a more in-depth interview about his thoughts regarding why he may be on the spectrum.

Of course he does. He's a person.

All people think that they are on the spectrum?

I think Jerry Seinfeld has OCD based on his character and some of his habits during interviews, that probably explains it...

Really? I'm far from the only one who has said something about it. Yeah, it honestly seems like anyone who is relatively introverted tries to say they have it these days.

I love how he refers to it as an "alternate mindset". and not a disability.

Not impossible, but being a professional performer isn't something I associate with ASD. Or at least its very rare.

I don't see why not. Of course most people on the spectrum tend to be more with withdrawn. But then again - I have worked in intensive care units taking caring of life support systems for more than 30 years and all the testing as well as the confirmation of my psychiatrist says I am on the Spectrum. And furthermore I can tell that when others on the Spectrum speak of their experience - it is something I can relate too. So though it may be exceptional - there is no reason why a celebrity cannot be on the AS spectrum.

The issue of having Autism should not begin with the statement, "Things we cannot do."

Might make sense. The ONLY way I can comfortably and reliably relate to a wide variety of people is through humor and joking around.

Yeah, or it's very mild. I feel like there needs to be more levels than just three. I haven't been diagnosed since the publication of the new DSM, but I imagine I would be level one, yet it feels like so many of these sort of people like Seinfeld, if they are on the spectrum, are a whole hell of a lot more socially competent and functional than I am. I guess that's what I don't like about all of these self-diagnoses, because I feel like it kind of trivializes my situation. I guess that's probably more of an issue with me though.

Yet he has participated in a fundraiser for Autism Speaks, who think autism is a tragedy and all who have it a burdens.

Very interesting. It seems like he is still discovering himself. I hope that he keeps up his journey.
