I do, but it depends on what it is. For example, I can only eat cheeseburgers. I also have to make sure the ketchup is always under the patty, and not on top of the cheese. If it is, I can tell, and it tastes really funny.

So, do you have to eat things a certain way?

I can eat many different foods...but the catch is that unless they're "together" like a sandwich, pizza or donair, I HATE having my food touching other food items and messing up the taste of individual food.

Lots of stuff gets eaten in a certain order. M&M's for example are eaten individually in this order....blue, red, green, yellow, orange, brown.

A lot of foods that are layered, like cakes, pies, lasagna, or cookies I find I can't really enjoy unless I take them apart and each one separately. At least I don't normally do the same thing with sandwiches. According to Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes that would make me a "Grade A Nimrod". :)

When I eat pizza I nearly always remove the cheese and toppings and eat them first, then eat the bottom part. If I'm eating cold leftover pizza, however, I don't usually do this.

Those marshmallow cookies called "Viva Puffs" or whatever, I tend to peel off the chocolate shell, then pull the marshmallow away from the cookie part, and eat each separately, usually saving the marshmallow for last. If I eat it like a regular old cookie it's just not the same.

  • I eat dishes in order from worst to best.
  • I don't like food touching.
  • I make sure all of the food is cleaned off of the utensil before moving to the next dish. (I used to use a separate utensil for each dish.)
  • If I'm eating a sandwich, I eat half of it, then eat the perimeter of the remaining half, such that the final bite is the middle of the sandwich.
  • Pizza is similar, I eat the tip, then the crust, then for the middle I make sure that the last bite is the portion with the best topping distribution.
  • When eating a salad I try to get one of each ingredient on the fork for every bite. That rarely works out, which bothers me.
  • If I'm eating nuts I alternate the side of my mouth that I chew each one with.

I have plenty of other similar "quirks", but I'd be here all day if I were to enumerate them all.

- I eat a sandwich by carefully eating the crust first. Then I eat the middle part once no crust is left in the area I am about to bite. In just can't stand the crust suddenly touching my teeth.
- If I have no time to pay attention to the crust I eat only the middle part of sandwich and leave the crust.
- I will eat butter beans only if I can remove the seed coats(the transparent cover of a bean), one by one. Most people eat them whole. I can't because it feels like the coat pieces are sticking to my teeth and throat.
- I will always cover my potatoes with salad, sauce, sour milk or melted cheese. I can't stand potatoes without anything - they taste like paper.
- My favorite spice is vinegar or citric acid. I will use it with anything I can, even bread drizzled by it gets really tasty.

To name a few.

Hadn't really thought about it. I do tear the crusts off of bread. Soak most sandwiches in milk unless they have meat in them, then I just use a water chaser. Never eat a pizza crust. And anything I eat with my fingers, like french fries, I never eat the part my fingers actually touch. Don't care for crunchy food (nuts, celery, etc.) There's probably more but can't really think of them now.

I have to have a candle burning on the table when I eat supper. Not so much during the day, but at night for dinner a candle must burn. Not a scented jar candle, a tall 'taper' type.

I don't have anybody in my life to make me a candlelit dinner, so I do it myself. :)

I always eat hamburgers in a circle. Once I get the outer ring of crust eaten, I take bites depending on which spot has the most condiments. Speaking of condiments, I only eat burgers with just ketchup and mustard on them.

When eating a hot dog, I always bite from both ends. I have no clue why.

I've got a bunch of other little habits, but I can't think of any others at the moment.

Pretty much everything. Except simple things like rice or chicken.

At the moment I am eating a slice of supreme pizza by picking off one topping at a time and then eating the crust. I ordinarily eat things clockwise on the plate, ending with the main item.

I hate for any of my food to touch or become mixed with other foods on my plate. I have to eat it one at a time. One time, my brother tried to "help" me try cottage cheese and apple sauce the same way he liked to eat it. He loved to mix the cottage cheese and apple sauce together so he took my fork (I was about 7 years old) and mixed up the two items on my plate. - I was extremely disgusted and I could eat anything from that plate. Texture is something that also bothers me. I have to be able to anticipate what the texture will feel like so when food is mixed, then it makes me uncomfortable. I hate being this way, but I can't help it.

I do that too.
And I eat the pizza crust first, if at all.

When eating a salad I try to get one of each ingredient on the fork for every bite.

It depend on what it is, but if applicable, I also tend to eat one thing first if it's something I don't like so much, so I'm done with that and can enjoy the rest and save the best for last.

I try to get one of each in one go when I eat veggies.

When I eat hamburgers, I always have it this way: bottom bun, lettuce, dressing, hamburger, ketchup, onion, red bell pepper, top bun.

When I eat a typical meal I will have the potatoes on the side of the plate opposite from me, and the meat closest or on the left side. Sauce either goes to the right of the meat, or over the potatoes, depending on the meal, remoulade too.
Veggies will often be on a smaller plate, and always to the left of the bigger plate with the meat and potatoes.

I do that too. I don't know why, but there's something about the end of a sausage that bothers me a little.

I eat all meals in the following order:
Meat, starch, vegetable. I have a hard time breaking this.

I'm also VERY picky about vegetables and will only eat carrots, broccoli and corn (although I will ear salads).

The oddest thing is I will only eat tomatoes if not cut into sandwich slices... I like the taste, but the texture is bizarre to me!

Well, I refuse to eat a sandwich with lunchmeat on it unless it has a layer of lettuce. This isn't because I'm a health freak but if I feel the texture of meat on cheese or mayo without the lettuce I start to "dry-heave" eg; gag or vomit.

My favorite condiment is onion powder, I put it on EVERYTHING.

I also eat foods one at a time, and in certain cases that extends to colors and flavors. For example, were I to eat Skittles, there's no way I could just eat a handful, they all have to be separated and eaten separately. I also really dislike using my hands to touch or pick up food and thusly almost always use utensils.
