I do that a bit. When I have those moments when I start talking a bit quicker while I'm talking about something I'm interested in, I tend to stammer and mix up letters from time to time. For example, it happened last night and instead of saying "scene stealer" I mangled it into "steen sealer". That sort of stuff.

Sometimes I talk fast and intense, but most of the time I trail off mid sentence and pick back up after a moment. It seems to really annoy people. When family comes over tomorrow for thanksgiving, I will not be talking much. My Uncle will ask me a question, and before I can get a few words out, he'll change the subject and start talking to someone else. It makes me feel really dumb.

I mix words up. Sometimes can't remember what the word is for something. Sometimes feel like I can't talk as fast as my mind is going. Other times can just prattle on almost without taking a breath. Can forget what I'm talking about mid-sentence and jump to a different topic. Never really sure what is going to come out when I open my mouth. Sometimes I talk fine. Other times I sound like an idiot. lol

Are you dyslexic? Uta Frith said originally they thought dyslexia was a visual problem, but later research showed that it has more to do with how the brain organizes the sounds of words. Maybe that's a component in speech problems.

I find it hard to talk; I would either talk so fast or pronounce some words wrong or say the wrong word, I used to talk slowly sometimes only xD

Speech is difficult for me also. I stutter, I block (pause), get words or parts of words mixed up or pronounce them strangely. Sometimes I'll only get out half the word and the other half just cuts off.
It gets much worse when I'm stressed. I much prefer to write or use sign language.

I think speech issues are pretty common with autism. I personally have none, at least I'm not self-aware to any I may or may not have.

I have similar speech impairments, they are not really that bad, but yes I have trouble expression my self in long sentences, and when I talk the voice is also very monotonous.

Sounds a lot like me. I stuttered horribly until I was about 11, but now usually only do so when I'm tired or stressed, but still get stuck every now and then on a letter.
I tend to forget words and many times just trail off without finishing a sentence. In many cases I would love to know sign language...but then, someone else has to know it to be able to understand what you are saying.

Words disappear from my mind, I substitute words for others without knowing it, I swap syllables talking in gibberish, I feel like my mouth is trying to catch up with my mind. Never been able to figure it out until I discovered Asperger's. I've found that anxiety plays a big part in my speaking problem.

The last couple years of my marriage was a nightmare and my anxiety was on full. Speaking gibberish, and nonsense were making the anxiety worse. Since my divorce, I have lowered my anxiety levels to almost nothing via medication and isolating myself. My speaking problems are currently almost nill. Although they will pop back up in social settings.

I know these things a little. Stuttering, blocking on letters, but it is only slight and in very nervous periods.
Sometimes it´s hard to form the words and they leave my mouth in strange shapes. I was teased somewhat for that at school. Tense jaws?
When I was a kid, people noticed how careful I spoke, - allmost overly precise, just like I used to handle things.
Hmmm, I have come to think, that I may have covered up a difficulty, - or maybe it´s just aspergers.
