I went to bed last night, I don't know exactly what time, but sometime after 3 am I believe, that is when I started getting tired. So I went to bed, and when I woke up it was dark outside, and I was thinking, Oh, I must have only been asleep a few hours. So I picked up my phone, and it says it's 5:43 pm. I just slept for over 14 hours 8O and I didn't wake up once until now. I had some stuff I wanted to get done today, but now I can't because everything will be closed at this time. I feel really stupid for sleeping that long :(

This has always been my issue with sleep, even as a kid. I need so much sleep compared to other people, I usually don't feel well rested unless I've gotten at least 9 hours of sleep, and since I usually don't get that much I guess I make up for it on days like this. And I do feel well-rested, some people have told me it's because I get too much sleep which makes me more tired, but that can't be true because on days like this I actually feel a lot better.

I still feel like my whole day was wasted though :|

EDIT: By the way, I know this isn't an Aspie thing. I'm just wondering if anyone else here has this problem.

I wish I slept deeply.

I tend to sleep around 6 hours a night--if I'm able, I'll also nap during the afternoon.

i don't sleep overly long, but i'm hard to arouse when in deep sleep. i've slept through my baby sister crying in the same room and a room mate crawling in over the transom because she couldn't wake me by knocking.

I tend to need a lot of sleep, but I wake up often during the night. I have to get up to pee at least every 2-3 hours. Plus my cats wake me up a lot as they are getting in and out of bed. But I usually go right back to sleep. It's hard to rouse myself in the morning, especially before 10 am. I hit the snooze button on my clock so many times it would make more sense to just shut it off, if only I didn't have to get up at all. When I go get up, I still feel drunk with sleep, sometimes for hours.

It seems like I'm a light sleeper because most of the time, the least little noise will wake me up. But if I set a snooze button for 10 minutes, sometimes I have wild, vivid dreams that seem like they went on for days. Every once in awhile when I wake up, I have a faint little cat scratch below my lower lip where one of them tried to wake me up, but I must have been sleeping too deeply to know it. So I guess it can go either way with me.

If I'm sick, or in pain, it's not unusual for me to sleep 10-12 hours without waking up at all.
