Well, my new (non-abusive) therapist is making me overcome my fear of cars and streets by walking on my street. I went today and it was frightening. I had to cross 4 times and had the urge to hold my mom's hand.

I also was worried and having intrusive thoughts about "what if somebody hits me?" "What if they get into a horrible car crash?" Also I saw some trash and thought "what if there's a dead child or pet in there?"

I was also worried I would trip and fall in the road or get arrested for walking too close to a neighbor's property. I was all shaken up and tense but bottom line is I did it! I crossed a street by myself finally at 19!

Gratz, really.

That's bloody fantastic that you can be proud of it. Cherish those moments, as they are what make life worth living at times.
