So often we have really bad experiences with lots of jerks and mean people but every now and then we get a little reminder that there are still some super wonderful great hearted people out there.

I went out tonight to get dad's special Christmas present and it was kind of late and I had not eaten so I decided to go to Subway. I was in line and I looked through my wallet and told that guy that I only had a couple of dollars so I was wondering what I could get. Then the young man in line in front of me told me that I should get whatever I wanted because he had a couple of extra dollars and he would cover whatever difference I needed. I was blown away by his sweet offer. So I ordered a $6.00 tuna meal which is my favorite and when I went to pull out my cash he pulled out his card and said, "Merry Christmas" and told the cashier to put my entire meal on his card. I was elated and thanked him profusely and made a promise that as soon as I was able I would pass on the gesture and surprise an unsuspecting customer like that as well.

It is such a good feeling to know that small random acts of kindness are still around and that there are still great people out there.

I've always experienced a kind of shock when anyone is ever really nice to me.

A diagnosis and then a Christmas present, sounds like a great way for you to end the year.

A similar event happened to my mum when we were out getting takeaway when I was around 5-6 years old. My mum was telling us that she had very little money and could only afford a small pizza (we were really poor), but no drinks, and a lady in-front of her overheard and gave my mum $2 for a can of coke.

Very small thing, but lovely.

I intend to pay it forward (do that to somebody else) when I get the chance.

It really is so great to meet nice people like that. Thank you Norny for that encouragement. I hope one day to pay it forward as well and to be able to do that as often as I can. It's so amazing how the smallest gestures can have so much power.

I had a similar happening where the cashier payed for my $5 purchase at a grocery store a week ago. Stories like these give me hope that there are still decent people in today's world.

Wonderful I was kinda feeling down and that picked me up. Why can't people and life be like that all the time?

You don't see that too often. I'd help someone but the problem I run into is the people who need help, I know 100% of the time my spare change is going to beer. If I had someone in front of me in line or something like that maybe I'd try to help them someday.
