Have you ever wondered how much sense you make to a Neurotypical?

I am worried all the time about if I make sense to them or if my logic is inspired by pinkfloyd i.e. I am on drugs or something.

I always seem to have a hard time getting my point across.

I am about to go into Philosophy and so I don't want to sound like I am drugs or anything; my brother said that my philosophy is like Pink Floyd and he hates when I tell him it.

I constantly get accused of being high.

I cannot even pretend to know. Often I will express a seemingly simple cogent thought and any given NT is totally confused.....why? Also, NT's are sloppy observers at best. I am mostly invisible to them (1-way mirror phenomena again). I am often perplexed. But - good question: What are they thinking? Why not bet horse racing full-time?

So, I conclude; this is why I am "mindblind."

Incidentally, I think Donald Rumseld is an idiot (and I'm not politically minded) but I must share this direct quote (this is real)!: ".....there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. When people (including some teachers) first met me in high school, I think a fair number of them thought I was either a stoner or crazy.

Oh my God, you wrote that and it made me laugh. I immediately heard Pink Floyd. "Hello, hello, hello. Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me? Is there anyone at home?"

There are just times I feel so Pink Floyd.

Anyway, I know I don't make sense to the NTs most of the time but I can make leaps to fix problems in minutes that they would never get. So, they keep me around in spite of my quirkiness.

I think most of them are boring and most of them think I am flat out strange. It all evens out. Just relax and be yourself. You will look even more strange to them if you pretend to be like them. If you're anything like me, that just comes off as stiff and awkward. They end up thinking you are lying about something.

Learning to think on another persons wavelength, is a Trait that NT's have learnt long ago - It's why they fit in.... and 'Understand'

I just beat it into them like a blow to the head. Doesn't make me many friends though.

Well, I've always known that some people can't make head nor tail of me...!
