She is an activist, speaking up about autism and trying to help changing the negative perception amongst the general population. Personally I admire her very much and I think she is very courageous.
I guess its always that way tho when you are a public person, as in life generally, we simply can't please everyone.

I've read a bunch of quotes attributed to her but don't really sympathize or care for most of them. I seen her website and it struck me as egocentric and self-indulgent, with not much content or anything to capture my interest or my heart.
Look at this I just copied across from her website: -
"Temple Grandin, Ph.D., is the most accomplished and well-known adult with autism in the world."
"At the podium, the cast members humbly redirected the spotlight to Dr. Grandin herself, who attended the award ceremony with her mother[...]"
"**Also just announced! Dr. Temple Grandin—world-famous animal scientist and autism self-advocate—has been included in the 2010 TIME 100, the magazine's annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world!"
Fed up of hearing about her! Extremely narcissistic and not at all endearing; why on Earth is she so venerated in the autism community?
She is definitely not self-indulgent nor narcisstic, do you actually know anything at all about her?
And it is another person who is in charge of her website.
