Do You Take Meds?

I know statistics show that quite a high percentage of the ASD population is on prescription meds for symptom control or comorbid conditions. I'm on Abilify, which is an antidepressant; Effexor, an antipsychotic (I'm not psychotic, it's just supposed to help with emotional regulation and meltdowns); and Vyvanse, a stimulant most frequently used to treat ADHD (again, I don't have ADHD, but I have enough symptoms of it - impulsivity, disorganization, poor time management, etc. - to warrant the medication.) What all do you take?

I have meds for physical problems, but nothing for AS. In my preteen years the doctors tried to get me on some kind of depression meds, but I didn't want to take them and wasn't forced to since my dad backed me up. Mom wasn't all too happy about it, though... the worst symptoms those meds would've been for went away after I switched schools.

I'm on Invega trevicta which is a 4x a year depot antipsychotic .

I am not severely autistic enough to need them, and not enough of a "chemical experimenter" to want them.

I have quite a lot of depression and anxiety symptoms (got diagnosed with GAD years before autism), so I've been on a few different antidepressants. Venlafaxine currently. Those are probably the most life-affecting symptoms for me, so anything that helps is appreciated.

Vyvanse, Wellbutrin, Remeron, Seroquel, and Klonopin (as needed).

I’m cutting back, actually. I recently stopped taking Wellbutrin, so we’ll see how that goes.

I'm on Effexor for depression, lithium for depression and anxiety, Buspirone for anxiety, doxepin for sleep, melatonin for sleep, Singulair for allergies and respiratory issues, and Zyrtec for allergies.

I'm not sure about current dosages but I'm currently on Xanax, Gabapentin, Lamictal, Prozac, and Abilify for my psychiatric medications. I take other stuff too for physical concerns.

Not currently. My NT husband would like me to reconsider.

In my early 20s I was misdiagnosed Depressive and the antidepressants made me manic. Then in my late 20s I was misdiagnosed Bipolar 2 so was on a cocktail similar to @livingwithautism's. Overall it subdued me which I suppose was "good" at the time (although a correct diagnosis would have been better) and put me temporarily into the initial stage of kidney failure (which per the bloodwork I recovered from). Due to a medical condition, I stopped them (withdrawal was rough). Since then I have had some unusual reactions to medications for physical conditions and so am that much more wary of starting up any kind of meds again...

It would be nice to have relief from my "overreactions" and GAD.
