They said it was because I have a job. Despite the fact that it's minimum pay retail. I can't get a real job.

What should I do?

Have you contacted them? I assume they sent you a letter informing you of the cancellation? What kind of disability is it? Like social security or is it private disability insurance? My mother currently has both and I know that if she works - it doesn't matter if it's minimum wage or not - she'd either have to pay back whatever she'd make on the job or have it deducted from one of her checks. I think they'll even deduct money from it if I work. It's ridiculous.

It sounds like you need to quit the job. Sorry. :/ They tend to be really stingy with money and it's a shame because people on disability really need it!

Welcome to the system. It's sadistic.

Math.

If you're only allowed one or the other, choose the one with the higher income. However, if you can foresee increasing your earnings over time by working, then by all means work even if it means a temporary pay cut.

Here, people on disability are still allowed to work part time and earn several (8, I think) hundred dollars a month before their disability payment is reduced. Meanwhile welfare recipients receive ~2/3rds the pay as those on disability and are only allowed to earn a couple hundred before their pay is reduced. Kinda backwards, but it it is what it is here for those on either system.
