Does anybody else suffer from Misophonia? The condition entails certain sounds (and sometimes sights) triggering great anxiety and fear. The Fight or Flight response is not uncommon. I experience this most severely in regard to gum chewing, loud music/tv from outside the room, and typing. I am bothered to a lesser extent by crunching and clanging of dishes. It started when I was only a few years old and was centered on eating and clanging. Over the years, it added more sounds. This has definitely been the greatest obstacle of all my "issues". The amount of places you will find these sounds is abundant. Gum chewing is the worst as people do it so often and, unfortunately, tend to do it in a very obnoxious way. The sight of typing and gum chewing also cause me the same fear and anxiety. I was only diagnosed Asperger's in recent years but was diagnosed with OCD when I was about 10. It is most commonly associated with that but I find myself wondering if people without such a diagnosis, who are Autistic, experience the same/similar.
