There are things you don't step on. I, for one, am extremely careful not to stomp on my cat. When I need to go to the toilet at night, for example, I turn on all lights. My cat, she doesn't understand my behavior. She keeps staring at me like saying, supper time?

Yeaa that's quite understandable, my cats have yet to grasp the fact tripping me down the stairs may result in them not getting fed. It becomes quite a dance to feed them trying not to trip over them.

Yes. But there are smaller things. If I find an empty matchbox on the road, I shun it. And when I walk downtown through a path in the nature, I never lay my foot on a bee. Ant. Spider. Roach. You name it. This can be neurotic at times.

With my clumsiness, I have to be careful most of the time. Get a rigid routine and you'll soon be doing these things unconsciously, with a little luck. It's very tiring to be careful all the time.
