To be considered got to stick in my therapy group you had to take a test call the a ADOS and Score A certain score like the person doing the test find out your autistic and writes it down are I never heard of this have you ever had a therapist like this anybody ever told you this if you didn't take your Ados or the childhood autism rating scale what was your score? Is it accurate did you like the test would it miss out on high functioning people or people with aspergers?

Are there any other tests for autism?

If you were not diagnosed by the ADOS or cars then how were you diagnosed?

I had to take the ADOS. I thought it was a tough test and it made me feel quite uncomfortable. It's supposed to test your social skills and imagination so perhaps it's not that weird I found it difficult (since I have problems in both areas).

Yeah, I took the ADOS. It's not actually diagnostic on its own, you have to take another test alongside it (in my case, my mom did the ADI). Some people say it fails to pick up the mildest cases of ASD.

I took the ADOS module 4 as part of my diagnostic procedure and scored a 13. The cutoff score on mod. 4 is 6 for "autism spectrum" (ie showing autistic symptoms, unclear by itself whether diagnosis is warranted) and 10 for "autism" (ie, strong indication that autism is the correct diagnosis based solely on this test).

I'm fairly certain I took the ADOS back when I was about 5/6 years old. I don't particularly remember the test itself, but the name does seem eerily familiar.

The ADOS wasn't used for my diagnosis; a wide variety of tests were but not the ADOS.

When I went to be someone being used for research, they did the ADOS on me. It's required before they'll use anyone for a research subject. They have told me they're not able to tell me my results, which makes me sad, because I really want to know how I scored.

There were some parts which seemed silly, some parts I couldn't do at all, some parts that I was wondering what it was testing and why I was doing it, and some parts that were "I know exactly what you're testing here".

What parts could you not do?

On the part you need to choose five items out of a bag and tell a story about them I literally put my hand in the bag and couldn't pick one I got so stuck in trying to figure out what to do. She tried to get me to move on a few times but I kept trying, until I realized the time and that I was late for meeting someone already so then allowed us to leave that undone.

Some of the questions I didn't answer I think.

Same here. I also have some disabilities that I think threw some curve-balls with my testing

I took the ADOS, but it was very strange. I wrote some about the problems with the process in this post. They spent a lot of time on IQ testing, and didn't really tell me when we finished with that and moved on to the ADOS. So I have a hard time knowing which was which. I've seen a lot of people talk about their experiences with questions to gauge their imagination. They never asked me any of those. I've shown the diagnosis report to two other psychologists since, both of which had things to say about how odd the diagnosis process sounded. The second one gave me the SRS-2 questionnaire, after I spoke with her about how uncertain I felt about the initial diagnosis process.
