Does this emotional intelligence just actually measure IQ?

So, I just found this test which claims to be a measure of how well you understand people. It is a right/wrong answer test that has you rate if personality traits are related positively or negatively.

I got 26 which was above average, yet I have extreme social difficulties. So, I am wondering if the test actually measures emotional intelligence, or just general intelligence.

So, how do some of you, the people like me, score?

An EQ test definately does not measure general intelligience, but you may still score higher on it if you have a higher general intelligience as chances are it's asking if you know the theory, not if you can actually do it in practice.

Brb, need to look at the test...

I took the test and got this.

Your score is 23. The mean score is 25, with a standard deviation of 4.9.

I thought that. But the questions seemed more like the application of logic to social situations.

All EQ tests just measure IQ plus temperament plus Theory of mind (which is par of IQ). EQ is a vaguely defined imprecise construct that is pretty much redundant and serves only to create confusion.

Tests like these determine if you have EQ by basically asking what's your EQ. You tell them, they tell you back. I don't see the point.

My guess would be it measures if a person understands social perception in a left-brain, logical type of manner, like a screenwriter might use.

And that it doesn't measure fluid, imprecise, nonperfectionist skills that are actually useful in real social situations.

It's a test of a form of applied intelligence, not general intelligence persay.

Wher did you get your detailed results? I did both tests and was told: 18/25 Better that 49,6%. Finish. Nothing about what the score was about.
