"Activists are attempting to commandeer the hashtag #autismspeaks10, which was created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Autism Speaks, to criticize the organization."

I was loving that article until I made the mistake of reading the comments. I'm sick of ignorant idiots throwing around their opinions on things they know nothing about.

I did my infrequent Twitter check this morning to find a LOT of posts from the autism advocates I follow with that hashtag and either criticism or messages of hope and love for the autistic. It was actually a really nice start to my morning seeing that people have rallied together against an organisation that seems like absolute poison.

Almost makes me want to join Twitter, and that's saying a lot. Got to admit Twitter is in the public eye.

I was lucky then, the comments wouldn't open for me. Something to do with my Firefox add-ons, probably NoScript (that site wanted to run 16 scripts 8O ). Still, sounds like it might be good ammunition for the debate, if the dissenters are revealing their ignorance a lot.
