Do you have Epilepsy?

I was recently told that I have Epilepsy. I'm curious to see if this is a common disorder in individuals who have HFA / Asperger's. The type of seizures I have are Complex / Simple partial seizures.

I have epilepsy, but I'm not officially diagnosed with AS. My seizures are simple or complex partial seizures like yours and originate from my left temporal lobe. I've been doing well for a long time, only one mild seizure this year and maybe a couple in 2014.

i'm pretty sure i do....and i've tried to talk to my parents/doctor about it, but they just seem to ignore me....

Yes, I do. I was diagnosed with it when I was 8. However, my mom still sees it as a reason to be paranoid about me having seizures, even though I have an upcoming EEG on March 23rd.

I don't have epilepsy in the traditional sense but I do have absence seizures (my mind blanks out for couple of moments and I forget where I am, sometimes they are more severe)

I had childhood epilepsy but have not had an episode for nearly 15 years.

I'm not sure. Sometimes on days when my back hurts most I stand up and everything gets bright and I start shaking. It doesn't happen every single day, but it's happened badly enough that I couldn't see or hear and sometimes I have to take a minute to remember where/who I am. I'm sure this is not as bad as others have it, I just wonder if it's going to get any worse.

Answered no, but it's a little more complicated. I was diagnosed and treated for it when I was younger, but later on a different Dr said it was just "night terrors". Seems there's some disagreement about whether or not they're connected with epilepsy or not. So I guess the longer response is, "probably not, but maybe a little bit".

No but I take a seizure med for my OCD.

I had it until age 8. Since then I have had shutdowns that are similar in that I go totally catatonic. Can last anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes.

No but I have some issue that causes me to never be able to wrap my mind around math, I mean in middle and high school I stayed after school for extra help with math and in college I took and failed two remedial math courses....something with it just does not click and I can't get it no matter how hard I try it seems. It can be kind of embarrasing when I go to pay for a purchase, some people are understanding that it's hard for me but I have had cashiers act rude towards me because it takes some time to count up dollars and change usually they don't but it still bothers me when I get an attitude about it when its not really something I can help.

I was evaluated for epilepsy and had abnormalities in the ECG, but they said it was an artifact and left it there.

However I do get severe chronic basilar / vestibular migraines which cause me to stagger like I'm drunk, get severe visual disturbances, lose some of my motor functions, fall on the floor unexpectedly and occasionally I have had partial or myoclonic seizures during migraine attacks. But my neurologist won't listen.

Considering I've played a lot of video games and have been exposed to flashing lights at Christmas during my life, I should have suffered seizures a long time ago. But I haven't.
