If you aren't sure whether or not you are a synesthete, there is a short questionnaire you can take without registering.

Do you imagine or visualize weekdays, months and/or years as having a particular location in space around you? Example: Is September always located two feet in front of you to the left?

I visualize weeks and months as boxes with January and Sunday to the left and December and Saturday to the right. Years I visualize as a line of numbers with the earlier years lower and later years higher. Does that really count as synesthesia? I thought synesthesia had to be actual sensory experiences rather than just visualization.

Synesthesia has to be elicited by a sensory experience, but the synesthetic response is entirely in the mind. I think "visualization" in that context just means "images in your mind's eye,"which can be a synesthetic response if it mimics sight, meaning that the image is concrete (not a symbolic association) and involuntary.

Oh wait, I think I see what you mean. Thinking about days of the week and months isn't a sensory experience. I dunno about that, but I have noticed that people sometimes mix up synesthesia and ideasthesia. I guess days and months would be more of a kind of ideasthesia.
